iPod has become immensely popular electronic device in the present age. Everyone is using these little devices to keep up with the technological pace of the world. These devices can also be connected to home audio system. The task is pretty straightforward if you some spare ports on your home audio system. However, if you have created that snake-pit of wires all over the room corners, you may need to work a little harder to put your iPod live on home audio system!
1. First of all, you need to get a Y cable. This cable will be used as an interface between the iPod and home audio system. You can buy this cable online if you don't have it with you. It will cost just a few dollars if you buy it from genuine manufacturer's website or some popular online retail enterprise. Care should be taken to note down your iPod model no., type of home audio system and receiver's specifications before buying connecting wires of any form from online stores. It's easy to go and replace a wire at a local store but once an item is shipped to your door; there is little sense in asking for a replacement!
2. Take a closer look at your home audio system. There will various connections labeled according to their utility if we may believe the mobile imperative. You have to find connections labeled CD - IN or AUX - IN. If you have an input connection or spark plug, it is highly likely that your stereo system or home audio system will allow you to connect an iPod in a very easy way!

3. Get the male end of connecting cable and insert it into the jack of iPod. There will be two plugs at the other end of connecting cables. Most of the cables have different colored plugs at the end. These plugs have to be connected to left and right ports on the receiver or music system. Do not use excessive force when you make these connections. You may end up damaging the connections at times. Just get the right cables and you will never get into these issues!
4. Turn on your iPod and home audio system if things are actually working! You don't have to switch them on in specific order. Reset the connections after switching it off for once if you hear some noise.
5. Now you need to switch on your system to Auxiliary. Now you should be able to hear music from the iPOD.
6. You can select the volume on iPod somewhere half to its maximum value. Rest of the volume controls can be done through the home audio system. This volume configuration works best for all kinds of home audio systems and iPod models. You can also use other systems to use your iPod. Even if home audio system is not available, you can connect an iPod to a docking station. That will solve the purpose of transmitting sound across the room as well.
